Bottom-up optimization of SERS hot-spots.

چکیده
The bottom-up optimization of signal-to-noise ratios for SERS tags employing SAMSA fluorescein as the reporter was achieved using a bifunctional linker with low Raman cross section. By holding the nanoparticles at subnanometer separation, the linker allowed us to optimize the hot-spot thereby significantly reducing the fluorescence background.

Generation of hot spots with silver nanocubes for single-molecule detection by surface-enhanced Raman scattering.
Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is a near-field phenomenon that relies on the intensified electric fields (Efields) on a metal nanostructure when its localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) is excited by light. Although it has been demonstrated that the hot spots between two or multiple Ag nanoparticles can amplify Raman signals by as much as 10 times for single-molecule detection, ...
متن کاملProspects for plasmonic hot spots in single molecule SERS towards the chemical imaging of live cells.
Single molecule surface enhanced Raman scattering (SM-SERS) is a highly local effect occurring at sharp edges, interparticle junctions and crevices or other geometries with a sharp nanoroughness of plasmonic nanostructures ("hot spots"). The emission of an individual molecule at SM-SERS conditions depends on the local enhancement field of the hot spots, as well as the binding affinity and posit...

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has demonstrated single-molecule sensitivity and is becoming intensively investigated due to its significant potential in chemical and biomedical applications. SERS sensing is highly dependent on the substrate, where excitation of the localized surface plasmons (LSPs) enhances the Raman scattering signals of proximate analyte molecules. This paper review...
متن کاملQuasi-3D gold nanoring cavity arrays with high-density hot-spots for SERS applications via nanosphere lithography.
Large-scale ordered arrays with dense hot spots are highly desirable substrates for practical applications such as surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). In the past decade, most work has focused on using lateral gaps between two metal structures. However, the strength and density of the generated hot spots are limited to a 2D arrangement of nanostructures. In this work, we present a novel q...
متن کاملPorous gold nanodisks with multiple internal hot spots.
For increasing the number of internal hot spots in the individual plasmonic nanoparticles, porous Au nanostructures were synthesized by a hybrid approach combining a physical process, which defined the overall shapes and dimensions of the nanostructures, and a chemical process, which incorporated nanopores inside the patterned nanostructures. This approach allows us to synthesize lithographical...
